Poems My Grandmother Taught Me

An Overdose

The road of life winds and bends,
You even come to a lot of dead-ends.
You live in a maze,
Go around in a daze,
And wonder if ever will come the day
When you can see light and find your way.
“It builds character!”, my mother said.
Well, I’m character built from my toes to my head.
I’m so character built that I must be
Insufferable to all but me!
