Poems My Grandmother Taught Me

Not To Be Forgotten

Your kindness to me reminds me of
A little boy
That I once saw.
Dirty face, bare feet,
Ragged shirt and pants,
Standing so alone! And then another child
With such lovely clothes and sturdy shoes, saw him, too,
Walked up to him, reached out his hand to him,
And together they
Walked down the street.
