Poems My Grandmother Taught Me

To My Baby Girl

God threw some stardust in your eyes,
And put a sparkle there.
He took some gold-dust from the sun
And wove it through your hair.

He got a silver moonbeam, Dear,
To make a voice within,
He chose a cloud of velvet white
For you to wear as skin.

So, Darling, you can not blame me
For thinking you are heavenly!
