Poems My Grandmother Taught Me

Sing Me A Song

Sing me a song, Little Bird,
A song about the sun.
How nice to see a sunbeam,
And catch it on the run!
Sing me a song of the clouds,
How pretty they look from up high,
And tell me about the tree tops,
Do they ever touch the sky?
Sing me a song of the stars, Little Bird,
How bright they must look to you!
Have you ever touched a moonbeam,
And seen a comet, too?
You see, I’m a child of the earth,
I have no wings to fly,
And I must depend on you
To tell me of things of the sky!
