Poems My Grandmother Taught Me

The Little Dog In The Red Coat and The Little Dog In The Blue

Said the little dog in the red coat,
To the little dog in the blue,
“Isn’t it sad we’re so pretty?
You know what I’d like to do?
Go out and roll in the mud awhile,
Run for a butterfly,
Chase a rabbit in a field,
And bark as the cars go by!”
Said the little dog in the blue coat,
To the little dog in the red,
“So would I! But here we are,
Looking beautiful instead!”
