Poems My Grandmother Taught Me

Now, Summer’s the time for swimming,
And picnics, and fishing all day;
While Winter’s the time for sledding,
And skiing, and winter play.
Gay Autumn’s the time for hiking,
And hiding in leaves piled high;
But dearest and sweetest of all is Spring,
Every child will tell you why.
Oh, Spring’s the time for skating!
All over the town we go,
Up hill and down hill, and on and on,
How far we never know.
We skate so much that at night when we
At last put our skates away,
Our feet still feel all funny like
When we skated in the day.
Yes, Spring is the time for skating,
And never can anyone
Find a nicer thing to do,
For skating is such fun!
