For as long as I can remember, I have been fascinated with words. Early on my grandmother taught me how to work crossword, Jumble, and word search puzzles.I’ve kept her crossword dictionary, long worn and tattered, as a memory of those days. Then as I grew older it was Scrabble and Words With Friends.
Recently, I used a word that was the answer to one of my first-learned bits of word trivia.
The fact is: It is the only English word to consecutively use three sets of double letters. Do you know the answer. I’ll bet my fellow wordies will!
The word is: bookkeeper.
