Poems My Grandmother Taught Me

All On A Summer’s Day

Sing a song of summer,
Lazy summer days,
Summer has such laughing,
Happy, carefree ways.

Lying on the beach,
Watching clouds go by,
Digging in the sand,
Building castles high.

Taking rod and reel,
Fishing in the streams,
That’s when every child
Can dream a pack of dreams.

Long hikes in the woods,
Wild flowers for a treat,
Best of all are picnics
And the food you get to eat!

Yes, sing a song of summer,
That fills the heart with joy,
And makes a happy world
For every girl and boy!
